Frigid — with update

Today at dawn, a bone–chilling 9° outside. Yowza!

This week has been dry and clear. Most days have been pleasant enough, or would have been but for the wind. Well, we’re nearing winter and cannot complain too much!

Last week on Thanksgiving we had one–third of an inch of total rain (that includes the tenth of an inch I mentioned earlier). Friday was still cloudy but it didn’t precipitate, at least not here at Happy Camp. Saturday early we could see snow on the Manzano peaks as the clouds finally lifted. By late morning the vision of snow had disappeared. We haven’t yet had a snow that turned into snowy winter weather.

Update: I should say, though, that at 9:45 am we’ve reached 32° outside, and today is not windy (yet), so it does appear that today will be pleasant after all!
