Rain, snowflakes, sunshine

Clearly, we are having everything today. It rained this morning from about 8 am on, and in the late morning for a little while it was just cold enough to produce big fat snowflakes. The ground, however, was warm and melted them right away, and not too long after that it returned to rain and then stopped altogether. We received 0.3 inches of rain this morning. A few minutes ago our house was sitting in a sunny patch, and I went out & checked the rain gauge and emptied it. Five minutes after I came back inside I heard ... rain! Although it seems to have stopped again, there are clouds all around us, so stay tuned.

Temperatures were in the 30s this morning, and have now reached 42°. As Alan says, “I guess December means it’s not summer anymore.”
